A Christmas Story
by Carol Clewlow (Actors: 2)
How do you handle an angry relative? Particularly when they have got good reason to be angry, particularly when things have not gone as expected and the circumstances are not ideal. And what do you do if when you say 'I understand' for once it is not an empty or patronising soundbite... because you've been there and suddenly your doctor's white coat is no mask for your humanity. This moving play and workshop puts a spotlight on those areas of professionalism and communication that are not black and white and that definitely can't be learned about in textbooks.
This play was commissioned for, and first performed at the Preparing for Practice day at the Tees Clinical Base Unit, James Cook University Hospital in December 2005.
