Room 208
by Carol Clewlow (Actors: 3)
Another of those plays set in the great beyond! Bill Spackley feels there has been some mistake when he arrives at Room 208 to be booked in for his place in heaven. He and all of the audience appear to be there for similar alcohol related illnesses and he's not happy. This is a humorous but uncomfortable look at the drinking habits of middle England and turns the spotlight away from youth, ASBOs and binge drinking. Where's the harm in half a bottle of wine in front of a DVD to unwind after a hard day at work? Or a bottle? Or more? The play was commissioned by and performed at the North East Regional Alcohol Forum in March 2008.
