YOUNG PEOPLE and MENTAL HEALTH

There is little doubt that mental well being in young people is essential. Our society relies on the healthy development of young people for its future. If we are to prosper then we need to address the concerns of young people as a matter of priority.  With this in mind we have created Squirrels, a moving live drama that focuses on a group of young women who support one another in times of crisis.

Squirrels is at the heart of a half day workshop we are offering to schools and other organisations where young people meet. The performance kicks off the session and with the support of a highly experienced clinician, the participants are asked to examine their own feelings and coping mechanisms when things get tough. As well as exploring ways of improving  resilience and finding the appropriate support in times of crisis, the workshop is an excellent way to begin an honest and open conversation with young people about the everyday steps towards improved mental health.

The response to Squirrels so far has been extremely positive and we look forward to engaging with more young people in the Autumn
